Summer: June, July, August

  • This is one of the busiest times of year on the Estate and the warmest season. 
  • Short break self-catering breaks are available at Langwell Lodge until the end of June. Full week(s) self-catering also available.
  • From July Langwell Lodge is available for exclusive use self catering with a minimum stay of 1 week.
  • Red deer stag stalking from 1 July. Sika may occasionally be available.
  • Salmon and sea trout fly fishing is available on the River Kanaird (priority is given to Lodge guests).
  • Brown trout fishing on the Estate lochs.

 

Autumn: September, October, November


Autumn at Langwell

  • The landscape gradually turns to a lovely golden brown and then to a glorious russet brown by the end of October.
  • On clear nights the night sky can be spectacular.
  • Red deer stag stalking continues until 20 October. Sika may occasionally be available.
  • Red deer hind stalking starts on 21 October.
  • Salmon and sea trout fly fishing continues until 30 September on River Kanaird (priority is given to Lodge guests).
  • Brown trout fly fishing continues until 30 September on the Estate lochs.
  • Limited amount of walked up grouse shooting from 12 August.
  • From 1 November short breaks (book directly with Langwell Estate) are available at Langwell Lodge.
  • Weekly self-catering breaks are available at both properties.

 


Winter: December, January, February

  • This is the least busy time of year in the North West Highlands - ideal if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
  • Weather ranges from violent winter storms to beautiful still winter sun days - both of which are exhilarating
  • After a bracing walk in the hills or on a beach come back and relax in front of a log fire.
  • Stay at Langwell Lodge or Glen Cottage for Christmas and / or New Year. 
  • Red deer hind stalking continues until 15 February.
  • Short breaks are available at Langwell Lodge.
  • Full week(s) self-catering also available at Langwell Lodge and Glen Cottage.

 


Spring: March, April, May

  • The hours of daylight are much longer at this time of year offering guests the maximum opportunity to explore the Estate and further afield. Lambs are born and the landscape starts to blossom once again.
  • Fly fishing for brown trout on the Estate lochs from 1 April.
  • Short breaks are available at Langwell Lodge.
  • Full week(s) self-catering available at Langwell Lodge and Glen Cottage.
